It’s International Infection Prevention Week (October 15-21, 2023)

Infection Preventionists (IPs) play a crucial role in keeping the public safe and healthy. In addition to fighting a global pandemic, the infection prevention and control community protects from surges in healthcare-associated infections, measles outbreaks, flu season, and many other day-to-day infectious battles.

International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW), established in 1986, aims to shine a light on infection prevention each and every year. IIPW 2023’s theme is “Celebrating the Fundamentals of Infection Prevention” which highlights getting back to the basics of infection prevention.

TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center recently celebrated a significant milestone in their infection prevention journey!

TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center recently celebrated 1000 days central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) and colon (COLO) infection-free. Hospital leadership recognized this achievement by providing donuts to hospital staff with the slogan, “Donut fear, no CLABSI or COLO infections here!” Sean Patterson, CEO, states “Patient safety remains a top priority at TriStar NorthCrest, and this achievement is a testament to our team’s commitment to providing high-quality care.”
