Hospital at Home

Introduction:

Healthcare organizations confront constant change from many fronts, including disease treatment, regulatory policy, technology, costs, and public health, not to mention natural disasters and pandemics.  In response, hospitals develop innovative strategies to meet the needs of the communities they serve. Many hospitals have developed hospital at home programs utilizing the state and federal flexibilities and waivers during the public health emergency.

Hospital at Home:

Hospital at Home is a model for delivering hospital-level care in the comfort of a person’s home. In the COVID-19 public health emergency, CMS supported this model through waivers and initiatives such as Hospitals Without Walls and Acute Care at Home.
