The care provided in the first minutes of life can translate into life long medical problems for premature infants or improve patient safety. Delays of treatment can have short or long term complications. Delivery room personnel use the skills learned from Neonatal Resuscitation Program and S.T.A.B.L.E to provide care for premature infants. This project goes beyond the standard care to focus on collaboration between high functioning teams to communicate the overall goal. Each member will be responsible for communicating to the team any concerns and the role they will provide.
Following approval by the THA board of directors, the Tennessee Center for Patient Safety (TCPS) is preparing to launch new patient safety organization (PSO) services.
